Chris Bumstead, one of the top bodybuilders in the world, with impressive muscle mass and definition, has quickly made a name for himself in the bodybuilding community. In this video, we take a closer look at his torn bicep from the Mr.Olympia 2022 contest. He got an MRI to find out how bad the tear was. Despite the setback, Chris was still good enough to win his 4th Olympia title in the men’s classic physique division this year.

Chris tore his bicep sometime during the Olympia weekend, it may have happened when he was posing in the room or doing his light workouts, but Chris isn’t sure. He mentioned it didn’t feel right during his last workout before the Olympia and that it felt a little tender. He mentions that while he was practicing his posing he felt something in his bicep and there was pain but he didn’t know exactly what it was at that time. However, everyone was able to see the torn bicep during the Olympia as it was very swollen.

It looks like a partial injury and not a full tear. Apparently it is said to take six to eight weeks to heal. Chris mentions how he’s a little stubborn and may stop at five to six weeks, which is where I start to get really worried for him. He should be very cautious with this injury. When he goes back to the gym and full throttles again, he needs to make sure he doesn’t fully rupture it. If he fully tears his bicep, he would be out for a year which is really bad for him and could be the end of his career. Chris does not have good arms to begin with, so if he fully ruptures it, he will need surgery and ruin his career.

He doesn’t have a major injury, but if he does not take this six to eight week of recovery seriously, Chris can rupture it and jeopardize his Mr. Olympia Classic Physique 5th title defense and whatever is left of his career.
