In an interview Iain did on a podcast after the Olympia, he talked about how he made a lot of last-minute changes to his posing, and it really negatively affected his individual posing round at prejudging. The issues really showed as he was stuttering, nervous, and not hitting the poses correctly, but in this video, he talks about how he mastered these new transitions and he can’t wait to reveal them. Clearly, whatever he changed at the last minute backfired on him at the 2022 Olympia.
Iain placed eleventh at the Olympia, which wasn’t really because of his posing, but because of his physique. Post Olympia, Iain said the process is what cost him this year’s Olympia. Iain claims that before the Olympia he was very confident in the process and seemed like it was really going to work and give him the best results, but after the fact, he discusses that the process was very long, he was flat for too long, and that it cost him this year’s Olympia placement. He didn’t look like himself and it wasn’t the right approach.
It seemed like Iain really wanted to be prepared for the first call out if he made it this year, but unfortunately he didn’t and he ended up eleventh. I believe if Iain was on point, he probably would have ended up in seventh or eighth place again. This year he didn’t look his best but he still placed eleventh, which is something he should be proud of.
